Article 1-3

Article 1
This article was about how violence (whether in video games or in movies and tv shows) has an effect on children. Starting out this violence can be the reasoning for early signs of aggression in many young americans. The beginning of the article presents shows how the violence in video games got started and how it slowed evolved to what it is today. The last half of the article talks about and presents evidence on how the violence in video games can cause anger within the individuals playing the game. Reading this article didn’t change my view on video games. I have played many video games myself, and many shooting games at that. After playing these games I have no urge to take out my rifle and start shooting people or harming anyone. I do believe video games do set something off for certain individuals, but I do not believe that video games are the sole reasoning for people having a lot of aggression.

Article 2
This article was about how Weinstein, a movie producer told the world how he was done producing violent movies. He claimed that if he were a parent, he wouldn’t want to pick out a single violent movie for his children to watch. He also presents his thought on how violent films can cause something to be set off in individuals to create anger in which they wish to inflict upon another individual(s). I honestly couldn’t believe that someone who has created a career off producing violent films has come to realize that what he has been doing has a negative effect on a very low percentage of people, but he was willing to stop that to help prevent that low percentage of people from ever existing. I have watched countless violent movies throughout my life, and I will admit that after I watch a racing movie, I want to go drive extremely fast, but never have I wanted to go kill someone after watching a violent movie. Maybe Neal H. Mortiz should not release the seventh Fast and Furious movie to prevent people from speeding.
Article 3
This article is all based on Marilyn Manson and his view on how the violence in the media is effecting the youth’s behavior in today’s society. The media has been known for stretching the truth a tad and adding useless details that just make the perpetrator seem worse than they actually are. Marilyn speaks of the school shooting where the suspects were dressed in all black and wearing makeup such as he does. I don’t believe that Marilyn was all to blame but he had to have played a role in what happened that day. Many adults love Batman, but not once have I ever heard of a school shooting where the suspect was dressed as Batman just out of love for the character who fights criminals and saves lives. Marilyn’s music and character had to have had a negative impact on the kids who did the shooting. I do agree with him that the world is changing for the worse, but I certainly don’t believe that his lifestyle didn’t have an effect on what the kids did that day. I have never seen a case where a woman dresses as Carry Underwood and goes and blows up a building full of innocent civilians.
