Article One: This article establishes the points of violent video games and how it can influence peoples behaviors and that it has negative effects for people who play them. The study was trying to show that kids or teens who play these games will tend to be more violent in there everyday real life.
They mention all the ways that they came to these conclusions through all sorts of testing and that these games can change how the kids act. I see how one might think this is right but as a person that really only plays violent video games, It has not effected me, at least nothing I am aware of. If you ask me it really depends on the type of people that plays these games. If the person is very impressionable I would believe that playing these games would alter them in some way so you really just have to be carful about it, not everyone is the same.
Article Two: This article states that violence in movies can also have a negative impact such as violent video games in the first article. It talks about movie producers and what they think about all these violent movies and there impact on people who see them. Such as the producer Harvey Weinstein who doesn't like making these movies because he is one of those people that does think violence has a negative impact in the world. I am starting to see how all of this violence is starting to impact the youth and I think you should know yourself if you can handle it or not. And people can be influenced by these movies, like if you go see a gang bangin movie kids might think that that is cool and want to do that. How ever I think that it is okay, I just went to go see American Sniper this weekend and had some pretty nasty violence in it, But that story is true! It actually happened to someone and depicts the horrors of war and all the hardships that that man went through, taking life's to save life's.
Article 3:This is the perfect example of what I mean by you have to be careful who views these violent games, movies, music and what have you. And these kids were very impressionable and looked up to Marilyn Manson. But I am sure they weren't the only ones that looked up to him. But they were the only ones who looked up to this man (or women) and committed an act like this. It all matters on the person and how they perceive things. I think this is the most interesting one because I have discussed this topic before and there are lots of documentary's about this, after the shooting I do think the way the media viewed violence changed, the media all ways needs something to blame these things on, In this case the violence that's always around, and in the case of sandy hook, it was gun control. They need something to blame it on and cause controversy.
